1. All of the materials required for Plenum R&R
2. Electrical or duct tape.

1. Remove the intake plenum.

2. Remove the coil end of the spark plug wires. Their proper location is noted at right.

3. Remove the electrical connections from the coil pack (A).

4. Remove the vacuum and electrical connections from the evaportive cansiter purge solenoid (B). (Not shown since my car doesn't have one)

5. Remove the 8mm bolts holding the evaporative canister purge solenoid and the front of the coil pack.

6. Using the long socket extension, remove the two 10mm bolts holding the rear of the coil pack. Use the magnetic pickup tool to help remove the bolts so you don't drop them.

7. Lift the front of the coil pack, slide it back a little, twist it slightly, and then pull it forward and up out of the car. Be careful not to hurt any of the vacuum hoses as they can be quite brittle.

8. Removal is the reverse of installation with the following twist: use a small piece of tape to hold the 10mm bolts in the socket. After you get the bolts started, pull the socket out, remove the tape, and then finish tighteneing the bolts. Don't firmly tighten any of the bolts until they are all started.
